Megan Gilron

Megan Gilron (she | they) is a certified Intimacy Coordinator for film and television, currently working on film and television productions with Principal Intimacy Professionals in Western Canada and recently qualified for the SAG-AFTRA registry list for Intimacy Coordinators. She is a founding member and co-chair of The National Society of Intimacy Professionals, collaborating to develop an accreditation program for intimacy professionals. They are a certified comprehensive sexual health and sexuality educator of topics and representing communities in which they have been learning and teaching for 10+ years. She has trained under the infamous Betty Dodson and certified through several programs with Options for Sexual Health and often facilitates classes on Representations of Sex and Sexuality for Performance.

She has an extensive background in theatre costume design, acting, and directing; film and TV costuming (IATSE 891 member); and youth facilitation with Safeteen International. Her work is diversely informed by training and experience in Mental Health First aid, assertiveness skills, conflict resolution and compassionate communication, consent and boundaries negotiations, alternative relationship structures and Kink and BDSM. Their intimacy coordination training is informed by the 5 Pillars and Intimacy Choreography modalities developed and popularized by Intimacy Director’s International and extensive training through Theatrical Intimacy Education, The National Society of Intimacy Professionals, and Intimacy Coordination Apprenticeship with Amanda Cutting of Principal Intimacy Professionals.

Megan shares her gratitude to the peoples of the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the  xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-waututh) Nations. They are committed to continued community engagement in unsettled and decolonized practices to support the ongoing healing of our current and descendant generations.
